My name is Spencer VanDenburg, and I am a licensed occupational therapist and the President and CEO of the Center for Innovative Therapy Solutions, Inc. For nearly a decade, I have had the privilege of practicing pediatric outpatient occupational therapy, working with children with developmental disabilities. Supporting these remarkable individuals and their families has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my professional life.

During my second year as a clinician, I was introduced to the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS) and later became certified to administer this highly respected standardized assessment. My experience with the AMPS strengthened my commitment to delivering rigorous, evidence-based care for my clients. Over time, colleagues frequently approached me to ask how they could receive AMPS training, drawn by the strong validity and reliability of this evaluation tool. It was disheartening to share that the course had become unavailable, particularly given the meaningful role the AMPS plays in occupation-centered practice.

Through my connections with other AMPS-certified clinicians, I discovered a community deeply committed to advancing the quality of occupational therapy practice. That sense of shared purpose has been both inspiring and motivating. I am grateful for the opportunity to help bring the AMPS back to the profession through the Center for Innovative Therapy Solutions (CITS).
